I’m a nice girl. At least I think I am. I am considerate, thoughtful, caring, sympathetic. Of course there are moments of not-niceness and moments of envy but for the most part, I am aware and I try to be as supportive of and helpful to other girls as possible. I think it is much better to be nice than mean. We have enough mean girls already.

Which is why when my sister sent me an email about a program called “The Mean Girl Cleanse” , my immediate thought was “hmmmmm, I wonder what this is all about?”. Whereas I may be generally nice, I feel there is always room for improvement. When I saw that the program was FREE, I was like “sign me up!” , and so I did.

It sounds like the cleanse not only deals with your “inner meanness” to others, but also your “inner meanness” to yourself. You know, that voice that says “you’re not good enough”, “who do you think you are?”, “she’s better than you”,…. which are the thoughts that results in your meanness to others. This is a great idea. I’ve often said I wish girls were nicer to each other. I hate to see cattiness, or pettiness, or bitchiness and I definitely hate to be at the receiving end of any of it. We are all in this together, people, and we’d get so much more out of life if we helped each other out.
