Evolution of a Song-Week Nine

Week nine started with a bit of doubt. Ok, a lot of doubt. "I have no ideas for songs, no melodies in my head (lies I was telling myself because I always have melodies in my head). How am I going to come up with a song?" But here's the thing, thinking like that does 2 things: 1) NOTHING and 2)distracts from the actual sitting/doing/writing of the song. Evolution of a Song-Week Eight

Week eight, feeling great! This week's song, was one that took a little more time and a lot more patience. (Unfortunately it's not one of my greatest virtues but I am being forced to learn). I had the first verse for quite a while and just couldn't find the rest of the song-lyrics, chorus, melody etc. But it was a verse that I kept going back to and trying to flush out. I decided that this was the week for me to do that-to finish this song.

Evolution of a Song-Week Seven

If I had to pick a favorite instrument, it'd have to be bass. When there is a great bass line, (funky or dirty usually does the trick:) I love the song. No exception. I often wish I played bass and entertain the idea of learning (if only I had a few more hours in the day). Well the riff for "One Way" is definitely more like a bass line. It's very simple and I had a blast putting a melody to it.
