The Great Escape

Remember a few weeks ago when I mentioned that project I did where I wrote a song a week for a year? (Click here to refresh your memory).

There were many days and weeks where I was questioning my sanity and my decision to embark on this project.

I remember week 10 being one such week (that song is hard to listen to ) and so for week 11 I decided to use those feelings as inspiration for that week's song. It was essentially a pep talk to myself from...myself.

Although it was inspired by the project itself, once I zoomed out a bit I realized the topic and self pep-talk related to life in general.

The first lyrics are "on and on I have to go. 'cuz I've already started down this road. I will try not to look back, cuz there's no use in that".

The chorus says "if I keep a steady pace, I know I will win this race". It's true for the project and it's true in life.

Micro and macro.

This song is one my my BFF's favorite songs of mine (s/o to Gabby!).
I put it on my album and it has a really fun groove to it. It's another one of those songs whose evolution was so fun to witness and create.

It's a perfect song to play while you're cruising in your car with the windows down. Give it a try and let me know how it feels.

This song also has a music video. Without further ado here is "the Great Escape".
