3 is my favorite number. In fact, I used to wear a necklace with a big 3 on it, so much so that everyone I worked with called me Number 3. My friend who was from the Dominican Republic called me Numero Tres. That was my favorite. I’m not one to brag so I will humbly/not so humbly say that…

Here’s a little unknown fact about me- I LOVE a good documentary. Particularly but not limited to those about musicians, music, and songwriters.

Muscle Shoals is a favorite. Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, the Beatles, the Beegees, HBO’s the Defiant Ones (a must watch).

I also, especially in Covid, love a good walk.

And now…on to our #taytay review of the week for “Dorothea”. The 4th song that stood out to me on #evermore.

The first thing that stood out to me was the opening melody. “Hey Dorothea” kind of reminded me of a Beatles song. I don’t know if it’s because the words remind me of “Hey Jude” (the melodies are not similar at all) or what but it kept me listening.

I love the melody and how the song flows. I picture a party in a barn with lots of people talking and the 2 people/characters are mingling around and catching each other’s eyes every so often. (yes I know it takes place on a tennis court covered with a tent-like thing but there’s a barn right next to it, ok?:)

this song strikes me for 2 different reasons.

phrasing. Tay tay really has a knack for interesting phrasing. This one is like a rushing river that stops only at the outtro. She uses short quick phrases and alternates with longer ones. It keeps you on your toes.
“Everybody wants you. Everybody wonders what it would be like to love you, walk past, quick brush, I don’t like slow motion double vision in rose blush”.

I mean, what? What a phrase! go on Tay Tay with your bad self. The whole song….

I, like most of the world (or at least what I see on social media), am listening to Taylor Swift’s new album Evermore and decided to give my opinion one song at a time.

Off the bat, I like it way more than I liked Folklore though I’m thinking I should go back and listen again more in depth.

I want to provide more info about my serenades. I can’t tell you how excited I am about all the orders coming in.

One of the best songs that I’m so excited to play is “Have Yourself a Merry Lil Christmas”. The appropriateness of a song like that right now is amazing to me.
