Evolution of a Song-Week Fifteen

NYC and the east coast really took a beating from Sandy last week. I feel fortunate that my roomies and I were unscathed. We live in Clinton Hill and like the name implies we are on a hill and thus elevated enough that there was no flooding. We even had power the whole time. It makes me so grateful and I send my thoughts and prayers out to those who are still dealing with the aftermath.

Oh, I love it when songs are like this. Or really I love it when I love songs like this. It's not all the time, so when it is, it is truly one of the best feelings. Singing your own song, playing it over and over again to noone but your two cats (well my roommates' two cats)... can't just be beat.

Evolution of a Song-Week Thirteen

Lucky 13. Well this week I'm not sure lucky is a word that particularly comes to mind. Of course, I know I'm lucky in the general sense and I try to be aware of that all the time but it was the busiest, most overwhelming weeks I've had since I started Song in Your Box. The CMJ conference (CMJ stands for College Music Journal) was here in NYC last week, where there are a million panels and about 10 million bands playing. It was the first time I attended it.
