Songs I wish I wrote: LP's "Shaken"

Super excited for another day, another song with the "songs I wish I wrote" series. 

The song I talk about today is by an artist that many people might not be aware of, by the name of LP. I first heard her music while traveling in Italy and was moved by what I heard. 

Oddly enough, that first song  that I heard ("Lost on You" in case you were wondering) is not the topic of today's video though it is highly likely it will be in the future cuz that's DEFINITELY a song I wish I wrote. 

Today's song is called "Shaken" and I'm gonna hit you with the first line of the song:

"All night sipping on a feeling". 

Did you get it? The sheer brilliance of that line? When I think of all the other things she could have said to get the point across, to describe a moment and how she was feeling, my head almost explodes. She could have said "Need a drink to calm my nerves" or "bartender, pour me a drink" but she didn't. She said 'all night sipping on a feeling" and I immediately know how she feels and I want to know what's going on. 

Words are powerful whether you put them in a song or not. How you choose what to say, and how you say it can be the difference between "shots shots shots shots shots" and "all night sipping on a feeling". (No shade to “shots”, just a different vibe).
