Evolution of a Song-Week Seventeen

Remember how last week I said I wanted to write a country song? Well I think this week I accomplished that. Now, it's not an intricate, elaborate country song but it is one none the less. I started taking guitar lessons and told my teacher that I wanted to write a country song so he showed me the basic strumming for one. That night this song was born. I think it's pretty hilarious truth be told. " I love you but not as much as you love me". It's sad when you think about it, but it came out of my mouth and I was laughing hysterically.

Evolution of a Song-Week Sixteen

Sweeeeet Sixteen. What a nice number. Today I played all 15 songs on my guitar (there's one on the piano) and it was interesting to see how much I remembered and also how much I didn't remember. A few of the songs, I had to go back and listen to because I forgot how to play them. I almost didn't remember writing them! But it was a fun exercise and I'm going to do it more often. Imagine when I have 52...that will be a loooong practice;)

Evolution of a Song-Week Fifteen

NYC and the east coast really took a beating from Sandy last week. I feel fortunate that my roomies and I were unscathed. We live in Clinton Hill and like the name implies we are on a hill and thus elevated enough that there was no flooding. We even had power the whole time. It makes me so grateful and I send my thoughts and prayers out to those who are still dealing with the aftermath.
